Computer Servers

We have a high-performance computer cluster (HPC), with a total of about ~150 CPU threads, over 1,000 GB of RAM, and ~100 TB of network-attached data storage. We also have several computer workstations for small-scale bioinformatics analyses and researcher/student training purposes.

Our research and training center specializing in bacterial and viral genome analysis.

Third generation sequencing technology

3rd generation sequencing technologies, also known as long-read sequencing technologies, have revolutionized how we study microbial genomes. Here, we routinely sequence bacterial genomes using Oxford Nanopore Sequencing technologies. The data generated allows us to construct complete whole genome sequences of bacteria. The results have revealed many great novel insights into the complex genetic architecture of the bacteria, and have helped us better understand their biology.
