Join Us for Introductory WGS Bioinformatics Workshop & The 6th CENMIG Anniversary Special Seminar

The Emeritus Professor Pornchai Matangkasombut Center for Microbial Genomics (CENMIG), Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, is pleased to announce two key academic events scheduled for November 2026 at the Stang Mongkolsuk Conference Room, Mahidol University (Phayathai Campus).

Event 1: Introductory WGS Bioinformatics Workshop on Anti-Bacterial Resistance Genes Identification

  • Dates: 19 – 20 November 2026
  • Format: Lectures and Hands-on Computer Sessions (Instruction in Thai)
  • Key Topics:
    1. Mechanisms and spread of antibacterial resistance via mobile genetic elements.
    2. Identification of Anti-TB resistance determinants.
    3. Practical hands-on training with key bioinformatics tools: ResFinder, AMRFinderPlus, RGI, Abricate, and PlasmidFinder.
    4. Interpretation and application of bioinformatic output for genomic surveillance.
  • Registration Fees:
    • Early Bird (by 22 Oct 2026): Students: 2,000 THB | Non-students: 3,000 THB
    • Regular Rate (by 6 Nov 2026): Students: 3,000 THB | Non-students: 4,000 THB
